California-based artist Jenn Shifflet holds an MFA in Art and Consciousness Studies from John F. Kennedy University in Berkeley, California. Her work has been exhibited nationally since 1988, in solo exhibitions at venues including Hall of Science at Queens Museum, Queens, NY; The Museum of Arts and Sciences, Macon, GA; The Discovery Museum, Bridgeport ,CT: Bullseye Projects Gallery, Emeryville, CA; The Hardin Center for Cultural Arts, Gadsden AL: John F. Kennedy University Gallery, Berkeley ; Chandra Cerrito Contemporary, Oakland; and SF MOMA Artist Gallery, San Francisco, CA.


Shifflet has also participated in numerous group exhibitions, at venues including; Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History Rotunda Gallery, Corcoran Gallery, Washington, D.C.; University of California at Santa Cruz, Worth Ryder Gallery at University of California, Berkeley, Yuba Art Center, AZ;  Morris Graves Museum, Eureka, CA; Maryland College of Art and Design, Silver Spring, MD; and Walters Art Museum, Baltimore, MD.


Shifflet is the recipient of numerous awards, grants and residencies including; Pollock Krasner Foundation Grant; Haven Foundation Grant; Smithsonian Museum Resident Associate Honors Award; Affiliate Artist Award from the Headlands Center for the Arts, Sausalito, CA; honorable mention from the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts; full scholarship to the Corning Museum of Glass, Corning, NY; and a Bullseye Glass Residency, Emeryville, CA.

   

Shifflet’s work has been reproduced and discussed in Artweek Magazine, SF/Arts guide in NY Times, Art Practical, Art Ltd Magazine, Canvas Rebel, Square Cylinder, as well as featured in books and catalogues published by the Berkeley Art Center, Root Division, Chandra Cerrito Contemporary, Di Rosa Preserve, ProArts, and Walters Art Museum, among others. Shifflet’s work is represented in numerous public art projects and is featured in several art collections throughout the United States, Asia and the Middle East.  Shifflet lives and works in the Bay Area of California.
